One of the largest components of leading is the ability to play to the strengths of employees so that the employees feel valued for their work and a company benefits from these strengths. Becoming comfortable with one’s own deficiencies creates a path to empathizing with others.

Social

It is easy to misread someone’s actions and make incorrect assumptions, which can lead to issues in the workplace and tense situations. A leader should be knowledgeable about the intricacies of human psychology so that they may better react in situations and more fully understand the motivations behind an employee’s actions. Is he or she acting out because they don’t feel valued? Realizing motivations for actions will help resolve the situation.

Influential

Ultimately a leader can use the three previously mentioned techniques to lead the workplace. The company will benefit as a whole from a leader who understands their company’s goals, knows their strengths and weaknesses, and relates to employees to resolve situations.
